Over the May Bank holiday weekend, a mix of 30 past and present DFEi acts performed at DFEi's first music stage at the Vantastival Festival in Bellurgan Park, County Louth. Over the weekend, DFEi Music observed over 1,500 visitors to their stage with Derek O'Looney and his band attracted a packed tent on Saturday. The DFEi Music Stage also attracted a lot of media attention, with DCU MPS interviewing a number of acts. Click on http://www/youtube.com/watch?v=G3V1VADYntw to watch the Derek O'Looney interview.
The DJ's also played to a full tent with a mix of genres including as "Festive.com" described as "an electronic psychedelic set" when they popper into review. Every night the DJ's were granted extensions, most impressively an additional 2 1/2 hours were added on the Sunday night curfew!
Due to the success of the stage, Benny Taafe, Director of Vantastival has confirmed that they will continue with the DFEi Music stage next year. DFEi Music was originally set up to bring education to life so that the learner could understand the industry and grasp it themselves. In fact The Sour Seeds, who headlines the DFEi Music Stage on the Sunday night, are releasing their new EP in the Sugar Club on the 21st May 2014.
