Enrolment Procedure

You may choose the following options when enrolling for a course:

1. ENROLMENT ONLINE (Preferred method).  This is the simplest and quickest means of enrolment.

           Choose your course

            Enter the required details and make a secure credit card payment

2. PERSONAL ENROLMENT AT DFEi 

a.   From 5th July       9.30am to 4.00pm

b.   Monday 11th Sept 2017      5.30pm to 7.30pm

3. ENROLMENT BY POST. Enrol by post by returning a completed application form and payment by cheque, Visa, Laser or Mastercard.  All cheques should be made payable to DDLETB.  For security reasons, DFEi  CANNOT  ACCEPT  CASH

4. Childcare Award (Enrolment)

A nationally approved two year course accredited by QQI  on successful completion of eight modules. Suitable for those already working in a variety of childcare areas, including: nurseries, crèches, early childhood education centres etc. Also suitable for those with no experience in childcare who are interested in gaining employment in the area.  It is necessary to seek four hours work experience per week in order to complete the practical assignments of the course, in a HSE recognised establishment.  Please note: Gardaí Clearance is required.  Applicants for this course should apply directly to the College as soon as possible.  Application for this course cannot be made on line.  Those students who have completed Year 1 in 2014 may now proceed to Year 2 and carry forward their First Year modules. It is essential that applicants present in person for consideration in DFEI, prior to applying for this course. This is to ensure that subject exemptions  and/or eligibility to the learner fund is established. 

 

Modules covered in Year 1: Child Development 5N1764, Creative Arts for Early Childhood N1769, Early Care and Educational Practice 5N1770,  Communications 5N0690.

Modules for Year 2: Early Childhood Education and Play 5N1773,  Child Health and Well Being 5N1765,     Work Experience  5N1356 and School Age Childcare 5N1781.  Year 1 classes take place on a Monday and Tuesday from 7.00-9.30pm.

Year 2 classes take place on a Monday and Tuesday from 7.00-9.30pm.
