Learners from the Public Relations/Event Management (Level 5) and Business Management and Enterprise (Level 6) classes are currently participating in the Google online marketing challenge.
The aim is this challange is simple. Each group is provided with a $250 budget provided by Google. With this budget learners have to develop and run an online advertising campaign for a business or non-profit organisation over a three-week period. The teams which develop and communicate the most successful campaigns win substantial prizes, including a trip to Google for the team. Learners also have the opportunity to participate in the optional Google+ Social Media Marketing Challenge.
Stephen Conal Moore, (Business Management and Enterprise) commented on the challenge: “Participating in the Google ad campaign was both exciting and informative. Working on a live internet project gave a detailed insight into the workings of a very complicated Google adwords campaign, but with concise instructions from our teacher Marie Lonergan it was an amazing experience.”
With so many categories, including Global Winners, Regional Winners and Social Impact Award Winners, there were plenty of prizes for teams to compete for. Each learner in the top three performing teams will receive a computing device, along with other prizes. Additionally, Global Winners and their teachers will get an exciting opportunity to participate in a Google+ Hangout with Google.org team members.
