On the 11th and 12th February 2016 learners from the HS6 class presented a health promotion talk to pupils of St Kevin’s National School Sallynoggin and The Dominican Convent Primary School Dún Laoghaire.
The topics included healthy eating in particular reducing sugar, salt and fat in daily diet’s, exercise benefits and how to include exercise in everyday life. In addition a session was undertaken on how care properly for your teeth and the relevance of good daily diet to ensure goo healthy teeth. The group also covered the risks associated to smoking and encouraged pupils not to start smoking.
A good morning was had by all as pupils participated in demonstrations and discussions. The feedback was excellent from pupils and teachers and hopefully the talk will encourage young people in our community to make healthier lifestyle choices.
